It is with a very heavy heart that the Town Board of Union Vale has decided not to have Summer Camp or open the pool at Tymor Park this summer for the first time that anyone can remember.
In concert with our Parks & Recreation staff, given these unprecedented public health circumstances, it is apparent to all of us that we cannot guarantee the safety of your child, family or our staff. Even with required face coverings (for every child over the age of two) social distancing, restrictions on who can attend, massive disinfecting, hygiene requirements for campers and limited camp activities, there are too many aspects of running camp that are out of our control, and that includes making sure that our campers actually have a fun experience.
Last week, we wrote all our Summer Camp families to explain our position and explain how to get their refunds (note: email your request to email@example.com ).
We want each of you to know that our staff works hard year round to plan a wonderful Tymor experience for your children. Spending time with your children also brings our staff much happiness and they are teary-eyed as a result of this decision. We all hope that you and your family stay safe this summer, which is our priority, and plan on joining us next summer when we will be featuring all kinds of wonderful events to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Tymor Park! The celebration would not be the same without our summer Tymor Families.
