Lifeguard Recertification CourseSunday, May 31st, 2026 from 8am-6pmat the Tymor Park Outdoor Pool$275 for Lifeguard Recertification CourseAmerican Red Cross recertification courses are for those who have an ACTIVE American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification that does not expire prior to June 1st. This class will be a blended learning course. There will be an online portion of class that is required to be completed prior to the start of the class. The online class will be emailed out two weeks prior to the start of the course. Class will consist of a review of skills and an evaluation of skills performed.Candidates must attend the full course to receive recertification.This class does not include waterfront.  It is only good for pools.Contact (845) 724-5600, and then select option 3 for the Parks & Recreation Office, or email aquatics@unionvaleny.gov with questions.

June 3rd, 7th, 12th, and 14th (Wed 4pm - 8pm, Sun 8am - 6pm, Fri 4pm - 8pm, Sun 8am - 2pm)at the Tymor Park Outdoor Pool$400 for Lifeguard Certification CourseLifeguard Certification is through American Red Cross and includes CPR & First AidCandidates must be available every day of their class.  PREREQUISITES FOR THE COURSE ARE AS FOLLOWS: Must be at least 15 years old prior to the start of class and must be available for everyday of the class. 150-50 swim sequence.  Without stopping, participant must enter the water, fully submerge and swim 150 yards with face in the water doing front crawl or breaststroke.  After completing 150 yards, participant will immediately begin the 2-minute tread with no hands.  After the two minutes are up, participant must swim another 50 yards.  This must be done consecutively without stopping. Timed event.  Participant will start in the water, 10lb brick will be placed 20 yards ahead in 7-9 feet of water.  Participant must swim, retrieve the brick, return to the surface, swim on back with the brick to the starting point and exit the water in 1 minute and 40 seconds.  NO GOGGLES ALLOWED. The online learning portion of this class (that take 7+ hours to complete) MUST be completed prior to the start of this class on Day 1.  This information will be sent out via email 2 weeks prior to the class. The Town of Union Vale Parks & Recreation Department is offering our SUMMER DAYS & FULL DAY Program "Thank Goodness There's Tymor" (TGTT) to families during the end of Summer after Summer Camp ends and the 2025/2026 school year.Program InformationSUMMER TGTT DAYS & FULL TGTT DAYS (on days at the end of summer after camp ends and when there is no school during the 2025/2026 school year)  8am - 6pm (Drop off is anytime after 8:00am and pick up is any time before 6:00pm, any late pick ups after 6pm will be charged a late fee of $1 per minute)$65 per child per dayOur program follows the Arlington Central School District Elementary School Calendar (children from all schools and districts are welcome!). Our programs are designed for Children Grades K-5.*please reach out to us with any special circumstances such as an older sibling*Parent Information:Children registered for the FULL DAY Program are required to bring their own lunch, drinks & snacks everyday. For all programs, children should have clothing appropriate for outdoor play (sweatshirt/jacket as needed, sneakers or comfortable shoes). Program activities include outdoor play, hikes, board games, arts & crafts, free play, organized group games, and theme days.Registration InformationYou can register for any amount of individual days, in any order that suits your needs.Online registration is required, limited spots available. Registration is due two (business) day in advance. Please review the Parent-Student Handbook for all policies. WE CANNOT HAVE ANY WALK-INS.  CHILDREN MUST BE REGISTERED ONLINE AND PAID IN FULL ONLINE BEFORE THEY ATTEND.  REGISTRATION IS LIMITED.
