$400 for Lifeguard Certification Course
Lifeguard Certification is through American Red Cross and includes CPR & First Aid
Candidates must be available every day of their class.
PREREQUISITES FOR THE COURSE ARE AS FOLLOWS:
- Must be at least 15 years old prior to the start of class and must be available for everyday of the class.
- 150-50 swim sequence. Without stopping, participant must enter the water, fully submerge and swim 150 yards with face in the water doing front crawl or breaststroke. After completing 150 yards, participant will immediately begin the 2-minute tread with no hands. After the two minutes are up, participant must swim another 50 yards. This must be done consecutively without stopping.
- Timed event. Participant will start in the water, 10lb brick will be placed 20 yards ahead in 7-9 feet of water. Participant must swim, retrieve the brick, return to the surface, swim on back with the brick to the starting point and exit the water in 1 minute and 40 seconds. NO GOGGLES ALLOWED.
- The online learning portion of this class (that take 7+ hours to complete) MUST be completed prior to the start of this class on Day 1. This information will be sent out via email 2 weeks prior to the class.
This class does not include waterfront. It is only good for pools.
